Sorry for my absence in the last couple weeks – there have been a few distractions, including continued planning for a certain event, and some other things I'll be updating in the next couple of posts.

But I wanted to quickly announce a happy surprise that appeared in my inbox the other day. Saveur magazine announced its 1st annual best Food Blog Awards, with the staff's picks for their favorite blogs in categories ranging from Best Food Photography to Best Regional Cuisine Blog.

I am so excited to be nominated in the Best Baking and Desserts Blog category, along with some truly distinguished company! Go take a look at all the nominees, and take a moment to vote for your favorites! I hope if you've been enjoying Dessert First, that you might consider putting in a vote for me! Voting ends on April 2nd, so get your vote in now!

Thank you all so much for your support of Dessert First – I know without it I wouldn't have received this nomination! I hope to continue to be a sweet source of pleasure in the future for you all!
